Hi all,

My name is Russ and I'm from the UK but living out here in Heerlen. Been here a year now but haven't managed to get to grips with the Dutch language so I will have to speak to people in English I'm afraid.

I have a 2018 Octavia VRS TSI 245 (UK Spec) which has very recently had a stage 1 remap giving me close to 315 bhp and almost 460 torque now! Loving the car and have been a long time fan of the vRS so I'm very happy to have one.

Any tips or advice on best places to have my car looked after whilst I'm here would be much appreciated.

I would go to the skoda dealer.

Welkom! I can advise the local Skoda dealer or Vagtechniek in Nuenen, near Eindhoven.

Personally I wouldn't go to the dealer unless for warranty-related stuff. I prefer going to a good general garage (Vakgarage is a brand of general garages which are typically pretty good), or to a VAG specialist like VAGtechniek, but that's quite a drive from Heerlen. Wonder whether there's a good one just over the border?
